The challenge
The first Traffic Administration Center of the Washington Department of Transportation (WSDOT) dates back to the late 1960s. Based in Seattle, it held just a few monitors to control the operation of the express lane of Interstate 5. In 1992, the WSDOT center was occupying a complete building, with a continuous exponential growth.

By 2015, with a growing system of cameras and detection devices, the WSDOT surpassed its previous space and decided to undertake the construction of a dedicated building for its state traffic monitoring services. For the new Traffic Management Center, the agency wanted an updated set-up of its traffic camera traffic in order to improve the awareness of the current conditions and allow a timely and efficient intervention when necessary.
